POSTLANE GUIDES

Bring your existing content calendar into Postlane.

Use the plan you already have. Postlane accepts CSV, Excel workbooks and individual-event ICS calendar files, with a preview before anything is saved.

Prepare your spreadsheet

Use a first row with the headers topic, date, time, format, notes. Only topic and date are required. Put one post on each following row, with no title or instruction rows above the headers. Excel imports read the first worksheet only.

Dates, times and formats

  • Date: YYYY-MM-DD, for example 2026-11-02.
  • Time: HH:mm, for example 10:00. If omitted, the default is 10:00.
  • Format: Single post, Carousel, Reel or Story.
  • Notes: optional creative direction or reminders.

Keep spreadsheet dates in the shown format. The downloadable template uses text dates and times to avoid spreadsheet format changes.

Import and check

  1. Sign in to your Postlane workspace and select or create a brand.
  2. Choose the calendar import option and select your file.
  3. Review the preview. Check the dates, topics and formats before saving.

Each file may contain up to 100 ideas and be up to 2 MB. Imported posts start as Idea. Existing caption or approval fields from another tool are not carried over as approved content.

Importing an ICS calendar

Export individual events as an .ics file. Recurring events need separate occurrences. UTC event times convert to the brand timezone; named timezones must match the brand. This is a file import, not a live Google Calendar connection.

If your file will not import

Check the first worksheet, the topic and date headers, the date format and the file limits. Remove instruction rows and expand recurring events. Try the example template before adapting a larger file. Contact info@growyourwebs.com for help; avoid emailing private customer data.

After import, refine your drafts and review them. Dates in Postlane do not automatically publish posts. Read what is available.
