POSTLANE GUIDES

Create a social media content calendar you can keep using.

Start with a realistic week, then build a repeatable month. A useful calendar tells you what to make, why it matters and what needs review.

1. Choose the audience and outcome

Write one sentence about who you want to reach and the next action that matters: read a guide, ask a question, book a conversation or try a product. A calendar is easier to maintain when each post has a purpose.

2. Pick three or four content themes

For a small business, these might be practical tips, answers to customer questions, a look at your process and product use cases. Start with questions you actually hear. Do not invent customer stories or results.

3. Plan a week you can produce

For example, publish a useful answer on Monday, a visual explanation on Wednesday and a behind-the-scenes post on Friday. This is a starting example, not a universal posting schedule. Choose platforms and frequency that fit your audience and production capacity.

4. Add dates, formats and creative notes

Record a topic, target date, time, format and notes for each post. A strong note says what to show and what action to invite. “Explain how to choose a size with three examples” is more useful than “post about our product”.

5. Draft, design and review

Write the caption, prepare the asset, check factual claims and links, then approve the final version. Review again after a meaningful edit. Keep each brand’s voice and calendar separate when managing several brands.

6. Publish and learn

Use the platform or publishing tool you have chosen. Record the results that match your goal, such as useful enquiries or trial signups. Use those results in the next planning session. Postlane currently helps with planning, drafts and approval tracking; target dates do not publish to social networks.
